Announcing the first Annual Tattered Fly Fishing Photography Contest.
I've seen a lot of great fishing photos taken by amateurs posted on the web lately. It got me to thinking that it would be fun to host a photo contest here on Tattered Fly. So I've decided to hold a contest and put together a prize package for the winner including:
Tattered Fly tee-shirt
Tattered Fly baseball cap
DVD-Sporting Fly's Vol. 1 Alaska-Kenai River
One dozen assorted House of Harrop flies
Certificate for $20 off a $50 purchase at Anglers fly shop in Boise
Anything else that I find in my fishing bins that I can dump on the winner
One honorable mention will receive a Tattered Fly baseball cap as well.
Here are da rules:
1. Each user may submit up to 3 photos.
2. Submitted photos must have been taken by submitter.
3. Photos must be fishing related in some way.
4. Host your photo on your own host or with a service like photobucket.com or flickr.com and post your image(s) as a response to this topic. Learn how to post a pic in the forum here.
5. Photographs need to be submitted by midnight on February 28, 2007.
6. Keep the width of your posted images to 670 pixels or less. No limit on height (within reason).
So let's have fun with this and post your pics.

Some amazing photos have been posted so far. I'm not quite sure how I am going to pick one winner. So once the contest is over at the end of February I think I'll let the visitors of Tattered Fly vote for their favorite to pick the winners.

Wow! There's no way I can compete with these entries, but I'm working to improve.
skinystrom, I absolutely love that shot of Kelly Creek with the hazy background!
uvarum, that is one monster brookie and so beautiful to boot!
Here are my entries. All were taken here in the Southeastern US. The first is my pal Insane fishing in the Cataloochee Valley in the Great Smoky Mountains.
The next one is my brother Drake fishing on the Tellico River last winter.
And the last is Insane fishing on the Flint River here in North Alabama this past autumn. It's a warm water river.
Dan,
I love your site. I think it's one of the best designed fly fishing sites on the net. I love your own photography and writing as well. Take care,

Greetings All!
I stumbled into this site like rounding a raucous bend -to find a sullen pool created by a fallen pine.
oooo ahhhh oooo ahhhh- "Any one home?" I wondered.
What a place- great writing and stunning pics!
Maybe I can hang around and float my line awhile...
Anyway, here's a couple pics I thought you all might enjoy- Nuth'en Fancy.
I have no idea if those are gonna post or not- the instructions are a little shallow?
If not- I'll cast again-
Tight Lines!!!
