Speed Clinch

Here is a short video that I put together demonstrating how to tie the speed clinch. In an hour on the water I may tie on as many as a dozen flies and I found I was spending too much time tying the knots rather than throwing fakes at fish. This is my solution....

Great method, good help for young fishermen or anyone else when it’s a little cold or dark. This is perfect for those times when it’s almost dark and the fish are rising and you just can’t get that knot tied.

Cool little demo video. Nicely done. I’ve practiced the knot a half dozen times already and I can tell it will be much faster for me.

Sweet, little trick = lot of time saved.

how do you add such a video stream to a blog?
I hate GoogleVideo. This QT video looks much better & cleaner!

Great video, will save me a lot of time! Is there a speed version for the improved clinch? Thanks again.

Very cool. I have started using the knot to attach tippet for my dropper. Just spin the loop, leave a little space, slip over back of lead fly hook, and tighten up. Thanks.

Jay-It depends on what blogging software you use. I use Textpattern. Email me and I can send you the code I use if you like.

Jon-No video on the improved clinch—you can use the same technigue but add the additional loop-through with the tippet and then pull to tighten. The finger spin part would stay the same.

I LOVE THAT!!! I can’t tell you how many times I have sat on the water close to dark trying to tie on that last fly!!! I love learning new things. Thank You!
