Synopsis: You can catch Bull Trout, Cutthroat and young Steelhead all in the same section of this river. Fish the large boulders and deep holes 2-3 miles below the convergence with the Secesh River.

Flies: Orange Stimulators for Cuts and Steelhead. Woolbuggers fished deep in the holes on fast sinking lines to reach the Bull Trout.

Map: S Fork of Salmon River below convergence with the Secesh River (Google Maps)

How to get there: From Cascade Idaho take Warm Lake Rd NE to FR 674 (single lane paved) along the S Fork of the Salmon. Head north until you cross the bridge where the Secesh River joins the SF of the Salmon. After crossing the bridge take an immediate right and travel roughly 3+ miles to roads end.

Bonus: If you catch a small Steelhead-play it for a minute or two near the deeper holes. It may get hit by a Bull Trout. I have a great story about this that I will post later.
