How to hook an angler....for life!

Hugh's Rainbow I recently introduced my buddy, Hugh, to fly fishing and he had moderate success back in June on his first fishing trip up on the South Fork of the Salmon catching quite a few small rainbows. We followed it up with a couple trips in August to the South Fork of the Boise below Anderson Reservoir. The first time with no success and on the second he struck gold hooking into a fat 16 inch rainbow. After he released it he said “I’m lucky I landed him in spite of myself”. He had a little help on the reeling and net work from Yours Truly, but I don’t think there is much doubt that he’ll be fly fishing for a long time to come. Now if I can only get him to write up his experience so I can throw it on the ole’ blog.
